How to stop Windows XP from asking if you want to "Send Error Report"

If you have used Windows XP for more than a day, then you know that you will have a program crash on you. I want to get the program running again and get back to what I was doing. But Windows will give you a message and ask if you want to send an error report.

user name and password fill in automatically

The "Send Error Report" request can be disabled. It is easy, just:

Right click on My Computer and select Properties.

Click on the Advanced tab.

At the bottom of the window, select Error Reporting.

Send Error Report setting

Click the Disable error reporting button.

Click OK twice.

disable error reporting

That’s it. Now no more annoying error reporting messages in Windows XP .

Microsoft Windows XP has released service pack 3 (SP3)

Windows XP SP3

As usual, I waited several weeks before I installing a major update, just in case there are some issues with the service pack. It seemed there are no major issues with the SP 3 and I installed it with no problems at all.

Windows XP SP3 includes all previously released Windows XP updates, including security updates and hotfixes. It also includes select out-of-band releases, and a small number of new enhancements.

If you have automatic updates turned on, you should get the updated automatically. If not, just run Windows/Microsoft Updates.

You can download the SP at Windows XP SP3

NOTE: The download file is large at 316MB.
