We use both CDs and DVDs in our office. We determine which disc to use based on the amount of data that needs to be copied. A CD can hold about 700mb and a DVD can hold about 4.5gb (about 5-6 times larger than a CD).

So it is not very economical to put just a few files, say 2-300mb on a DVD.

We try to buy the fastest speeds of discs to save time when burning to discs. However, the hardware is usually the limiting factor. Our last order was for 16x DVDs, and 52x CD.

DVDs are very useful and popular, but CDs still have their place and are cheaper than DVDs.

Great information. It is a very helpful reminder. I also wanted to take this opportunity and thank you for advertising on my blog. It is running on there today. God bless.

Hey, it’s strange but I don’t find any dual layer DVD even in popular store here.. may be compatibility issues, but for my own sake , it’s not available…

but what I see is, days of DVD are numbered

Bluray will overtake everything within 2 years, my own perception

    Regards
