Has Your Display Rotated?
If you are reading this then your display is probably not rotated 90 or 180 degrees. But it can happen by accident if you have your video properties “hot keys” turned on. So read this tip, it may just help you if your display get rotated by accident.
An ounce of prevention goes a long way when it comes to computers and this problem is no exception. One thing that you can do right now is go to your video display or the graphics card utility. Go to the Control Panel and open the graphics utility.
I am using an Intel 945 card in a Dell Optiplex GX 280 and the utility looks like this.
In my utility, I have to click the “Graphics Properties“. You may have search around in your utility to find the right settings. In the display window, I have the option to turn on/off the “Enable Rotation” feature.
Now if you want to avoid having your display rotated by accident by hitting the keys and activating the hot keys, go to the “Hot Keys“area. You can disable the hot keys function that can be activated to rotate the display.
If you want to keep this option, it may be a good idea to write down the hot keys in case your display rotates and you can’t remember the hot keys.
