Question From a Subscriber
How do I get the little computer icons back on the start bar? This is a question I received from a subscriber. I get these kind of questions all the time. Sometimes computer users will accidently change their settings or they have had their computer reloaded and things are not the way they are used to them. So to answer your question:
First, I think what your are talking about is the Quick Launch toolbar in the Taskbar. The tool bar at the bottom of your desk top is called the Taskbar. Some refer to the Taskbar as the Start bar becasue the Start button is in the Taskbar. Double click the thumbnail to see the full size image.
Quick Launch
The Quick Launch toolbar, which contains the little icons on the Taskbar can be shown or hidden. If you cannot see your Quick Launch toolbar, place your cursor on the Taskbar and right click. Go to Toolbars then over to Quick Launch and make sure the Quick Launch is checked.
The Quick Launch toolbar should appear next to the Start button. You may need to widen the Quick Launch by placing your cursor over the double line and drag the line to the right. If you cannot see the lines, right click on the Taskbar and uncheck the Lock the Taksbar option, then adjust the Quick Launch toolbar. ![]()
Now you can drag your program icons into the Quick Launch toolbar and to delete them just right click the icon and select delete. Thats all there is to it. Now you can customize your Taskbar and Quick Launch toolbar.
