This Week’s Winner

This weeks dumbest (dumb as perceived by an IT tech) comment/questions comes from the user of a Dell Latitude D600 laptop. The laptop is used to download, edit and email photos. The photos can be large files that use a lot of memory. The conversation went something like this:
user: We need more memory in the laptop.
tech: Yes, thats a good idea.
user: Do you have any RAM memory in your office?
tech: No.
This is where it gets good.
user: Can we download some RAM memory?
tech: (With a straight face) No.

The remainder of the conversation was about purchasing RAM for the laptop, with the tech advising the user.

This weeks honorable mention comes from a help desk request.
“My cursor is frozen and locked up my computer. I must reboot my computer to get the cursor loose”.
