When ever you want to go to a web site that you do not have bookmarked, you have to type in the url (universal resource locator). First you type in http://, forward slash not back slash, remember, then www, the url name and then the dot com.

Now there is an easy way to type in a url in Internet Explorer and Firefox. In the address bar, just type the url. For example, type: simpleptalk. Just simplepctalk, not http, www, or .com.

Once you have the url name typed in, just hold down the Ctrl key down while you press the Enter key. Thats it. The browser adds the http://, www, and the .com. Good luck and faster surfing.

Wow, how is possible that I didn’t know about that one. :)

I also like Firefox’s feature when you put keywords in the address bar and then press Enter - it will bring you to the first page found in Google. (so “simplepctalk” can also bring you to this website) But this doesn’t work every time. Especially not when there are more similar results.
