Changing the display properties is different Vista compared to XP. In XP, you just right click on the desktop and select Properties and the Display Properties window opened.
In Vista there is an extra step and menu items are named differently. To open the display properties in Vista, right click on the desktop and select Personalize, this will open the Personalize area of the Control Panel. From here, go to the bottom of the window and select Display Settings. The Display Settings window will open.
You can also change the display settings by going through the Control Panel.
Click Start, then Control Panel, click on the Personalization icon (in the Classic view). If you are not using the Classic view, under the Appearance and Personalization heading, select Adjust Screen Resolution.
